A Note From The Artist:

"I wanted to paint the version of us that the world tried to overlook. Not the struggle. Not the statistics. The children on the stoop in the good outfits, with their whole lives ahead of them, completely unbothered. I grew up in that era. I remember what it felt like to be that free. This collection is for every Black kid who came of age when hip hop was becoming everything, and who knew, even then, that we were part of something historic."  -Linia White

Before the world told them who to be, they already knew.

There is something sacred about the moment right before adulthood arrives. When style is pure instinct. When friendship is the whole world. When you sit on a stoop in your freshest gear and you own every inch of the block without trying.

Retro Youths is a love letter to Black youth. To the children who grew up in the era when hip hop was finding its voice and taking it, unapologetically, to every corner of every city. The shell toes. The gold chains. The color that refused to be quiet. The posture that said we have always known our worth.

These are not nostalgic pieces. They are declarations. That Black childhood has always been beautiful, creative, and full of a cultural power that would go on to shape the entire world.
